Theodore Roosevelt Jr., also known as Teddy Roosevelt or his initials T. R., was an American statesman, conservationist, naturalist, historian, and writer, who served as the 26th president of the United States from 1901 to 1909. Roosevelt was a collaborator of various peace treaties during his career. Among other things, Roosevelt negotiated peace in the Russo-Japanese war in 1904-5. He also resolved a dispute with Mexico by resorting to arbitration as recommended by the peace movement. Roosevelt was the first statesman to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He was also posthumously awarded with a Medal of Honor.
